While everyone’s small cell lung cancer (SCLC) experience will be unique, many patients grapple with similar emotions and share concerns about how a cancer diagnosis will impact their most valuable relationships. Similarly, SCLC treatment will have a different physical impact on each individual, but there are several common side effects that patients may experience. Like many, Kim had complex emotions that accompanied her diagnosis, but she didn’t allow living with SCLC to impact her relationships with her friends and family. Coping with sadness and side effects has been a challenge, but one she did not hesitate to embrace as she focused on looking forward to what life brought next.
