SCLC Patient Annette
Annette had already survived two previous bouts with cancer before being diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (SCLC). While the initial diagnosis was a shock to her personally, telling her family that she had cancer once again was the most difficult part of the experience. But Annette soon formed close relationships with her doctors based on trust and positivity, which helps her manage the emotional toll of undergoing SCLC treatment.
“I needed to know that there was someone there when I had questions about how I was feeling, about how my body was reacting, and I needed to know that I had a doctor that was going to give me positive reinforcement.”
